Making Hay While The Sun...
The past week has been very unusual - in a good way - for us. This last week was mid-term break here, and most of our friends were either out of town with their kids or were at home with them sick. So our normal routine was completely out the window, and we had a bit of extra time on our hands. Dee was still getting over a cold, and was housebound, but I just couldn't stand being inside on the most beautiful weekend of the year (so far). I slung my camera bag over my shoulder and stuffed our digi camera in my pocket and went off for a little adventure. The plan was to drive West just a little while until I hit a new area or road that I have not hiked before............... well......... Things didn't quite work out the way I had planned...................
And I ended up going up into the mountains. It turned out to be a wise decision. I really needed the retreat.... And I found the time to hike..... think..... read..... pray..... and take pictures (of course) to be really refreshing (I really should do it more often). I found myself thinking about those ancient saints that once walked through these same valleys..... Pondering the same questions and praying the same prayers that I was praying.....
Standing there in the footsteps of those ancient Celtic Christians, I understood how they revered the creation, and loved and respected the Creator. I had never really seen natural revelation like I do now that I live here... and this weekend I stood in complete amazement. The pictures really do not capture the moment or the place, but they at least give you a tast of the day.
