We Are In...

Well,
We are now a week into the moving process… I wish that I could say that we are finished… but in reality I feel as if we are about 90% of the way there. We now just need to get the internet up and working and clean up the old apartment... We got our keys late Monday night, and the heat was turned on late Tuesday, and we have been working hard to get everything moved over ever since. We were able to meet one goal… we were able to spend our very first night here on Friday night! I think that we are really going to like our new place…. If we can just remember where we have put everything. We live on a quiet road that overlooks our little town…. But I think that my favorite thing is the small pack of friendly dogs that roam up and down the street like a small gang of kids looking for something to do during summer vacation. As I write this I can see them playing ‘king of the hill’ on a large pile of gravel next door. They accompany every person that is walking down the road and are always looking for a good game of fetch. I have no idea who they belong to (they seem to spend an equal amount of time in every yard), or their names – but I’ve named them Speedy (the black one that is ready to run), Lopey (the one chewing on a piece of wood), and Barky (the impatient one on the right).

On The Move...

Things here are really in transition.... in a good way. Today is probably going to be the big day that we move houses. It isn't too far - just about two miles away... so that means our packing has been real 'loosy-goosy'. Our plan isn't to use a ton of boxes and to rent a big truck, but rather to use our van to make a lot of little trips back and forth. When we came here almost two years ago we only had six suitcases full of stuff......... I can safely say that we have far outgrown six suitcases........ We are really sad to say goodbye to our apartment here... but we are excited to be moving closer into the town center. We will keep you updated with how the big move goes...

Bí Thusa mo shúile/Be Thou My Vision

Bí Thusa mo shúile a
Rí mhor na ndúil
Lion thusa mo bheatha mo
chéadfaí’s mo stuaim
Bí thusa i m’aigne
gach oiche’s gach lá
Im chodladh no im dhúiseacht
Lion mé le do grá

Bí thusa mo threorú i mbriathar
is i mbeart
Fan thusa go deo liom
is coinnigh mé ceart
Glac cúram mar Athair
is éist le mo ghuí
is tabhair domsa áit cónaí
istigh i do chroí

Another Irish Joke...

Ok... I know that some of you didn't get the last one.... ie - boot = trunk of a car.... But here is one that translates a little better:

Do you know what the funny thing about a leg is?

There is a bottom at the top!

Irish Spring!

No... no... no... I'm not talking about "Irish spring" the soap - which, ironically, they don't have here.... Today is the first day of Spring! It may just be me... but I can already feel it in the air! We have been noticing that the daffodils started blooming yesterday..... and the farmers are starting to burn some of the underbrush in the fields to get ready for the spring growth! Spring temperatures are still a little while off... but we had a little taste of it yesterday when we had a lot of sunshine... and it was warm enough to go out without coats! It won't be long now!

A Picture For Spring...

This is my favorite picture that we have taken while in Ireland...

Clock?

Well... Feedback so far seems to indicate that no one really like the shamrocks.... so.... I guess that they are going to go..... and the clock (in Irish) is going to come back... Thanks for the feedback...
