Splish Splash

I woke up this morning just as normal... had a really nice shower this morning... again everything normal... I even came downstairs to the office without any problem. And then I heard it. Drip....... Drip...... Drip..Drip.......Drip.Drip.Drip....Drip.Drip.Drip.Drip.Drip. Gush...... I jumped up... water was running out of the ceiling in the hall right outside our office. I ran up the stairs to the exact spot where the water was coming from... the carpet there was also soaked.... Looking up I could see water dripping out of the ceiling there also. I looked outside... Not a cloud in the sky. What could it have been? Any guesses? Busted pipe? No. Nothing up there was frozen or melting... Now... I am not a plumber... But I had never heard of this before. Apparently we have a large tub (kinda like a bathtub but not really) that sits uncovered in our attic. It is a common practice here to have these things so that the house will have added water pressure. Ours was overflowing. I called out to Dee and she frantically started running water in the shower upstairs. We called our landlord... he called a plumber.... the plumber came over without a ladder... several hours later he had a new part on the tub (apparently it was stuck in the refill position)... The plumber seemed a little miffed at me because the overflow pipe had been taped over. I had to tell him - "Sorry... I didn't build the house... I just live here". Hours later and we are still soaking water out of the carpet. It is funny... I had really planned on getting some things accomplished today... and now that it is just about over.... I don't think that I have gotten anything accomplished. Am I the only one that has unproductive days like this? To be honest with you - I think that I need them. I think that I need a curve ball from time to time...
