Just A Local Monster....
Have you seen this creature?
No... We are not talking about the Loch Ness in Scotland... This monster lives in a lough in Ireland. I've just learned that there is a local legend about a large monster that lives in a bog lake near us. The legend has it that a large monster called the 'horse eel' lives in a series of glacial valley lakes that are very secluded and are locked by extensive bogs on all sides. One reason that it has been so hard to capture or locate the monster is because it is believed to be able to travel over land from lake to lake. The 'horse eel' is said to have a front half which resembles a horse and a back half which tapers off like an eel. The monster's existence is still debatable, but credible sightings of the monster go as far back as the 1880's. The Loch Ness Investigation Bureau investigated in 1968 and its findings were inconclusive. We will hopefully have some firm 'scientific' proof about the monster's existence soon.... A Japanese television crew is coming to the area to do a documentary for a Japanese version of the Discovery Channel. Who knows... I might even drive up there and have a look around.......
