City Boy....
Ok........... I confess………………. Deedra is right…….. I’m a city boy! It would seem that I proved this point (Just as I do over and over just about every day) today when we got a roll of pictures developed and half of the pictures were of cows… and none of the pictures were of us. But hey… Seeing cows is still really novel to me… so it is understandable if I constantly have to point them out as we drive or take pictures of them when the lighting is just right…. But you have to understand that the wildlife of my childhood consisted of a caged parrot that bites, raccoons, chipmunks, or feeding the ducks/fish in the city park… So the wildlife on the side of the roads in Ireland seems exotic in its own way. Believe me when I say that cows, for example, each have a distinct personality. I admit it… I get a real laugh out of their big wall-eyed looks as they strain to reach that bush just out of reach on the other side of the wall with their long tongue… ha ha ha ha… I can’t help but laugh when they run… he he he he he ho ho ho hoooo……. My day is completely brightened when I hear the bellow of a long deep “Moooooooooooooooooooooooo” (that slowly rises in pitch the longer it is held out) echoing from a distant field! OK……….So, I’m a city boy…….. You can’t really blame me if I take a lot of pictures of them… can you? But when you get a picture back that is as comical as the one posted below, the film definitely wasn’t wasted! I have laughed at this picture all afternoon… Yes, the cow’s eyes are a great color of blue… and its curly hair makes me smile… but what I think is ‘utterly’ funny is the other cow just over her shoulder… look at her… she is standing there straining… looking sad as if she is being left out of something big… she has this look as if she is trying to figure out what she is missing… ha ha ha…. Yep, maybe a city boy but that picture is classic and is one that I will laugh about for years to come!!! What do you think?
