See what blows in.......

We went to bed last night in the dark. We were up late and a winter storm was beginning to blow in off the Atlantic. The winds were blowing at gale force and there was a strange howling sound coming from the fireplace. The power started to flicker - and then went out. We were left in our dark living room that was lit only by the glow of the laptop (still on - working on this website). We turned the computer off ~ and guided by the light of our cell phone made our way down the long hallway trying to fumble our way back to our bedroom...

I awoke this morning to the sound of hail hitting our window. I rolled over and discovered that the power had come back on... I flung open the curtains and looked out at the white capped Atlantic as pieces of hail slid down the glass. The cars, pavement, and grass were completely white.... The wind continued to howl... and I sat on our couch watching the waves crash into the rocky shore.

The weather stayed like this for most of the day... but it was not long until blue spots began to appear in the sky... and then the clouds were slowly carried towards England. Then - out of the west - the Sun! That bright burning object in the sky that is always a welcomed part of the day... The last two hours of the day were lit with a strange orange glow that so often appears here...

There are so many things that God is teaching me - to slow down - to admire his creativity and power - and to be grateful for the time that He gives us.
